Alprax 0.5mg Tablet is a prescription medication used primarily to treat anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and certain other conditions. Each tablet contains 0.5mg of alprazolam, a medication belonging to the benzodiazepine class that works by affecting chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with anxiety.
Uses
Alprax is prescribed for:
Anxiety Disorders: Helps reduce feelings of excessive worry, restlessness, and physical symptoms like increased heart rate and sweating.
Panic Disorder: Used to manage sudden, intense episodes of fear, often with symptoms like palpitations, sweating, and trembling.
Insomnia: Sometimes used short-term to help with severe sleep problems caused by anxiety or stress.
Muscle Spasms and Seizures: It may be used alongside other treatments for conditions involving muscle spasms or certain types of seizures.
How It Works
Alprax works by enhancing the action of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), a neurotransmitter that inhibits nerve activity in the brain. This results in a calming effect, reducing symptoms of anxiety and panic.
